Drown Good Drown

Drown Good Drown was created in the summer of 2022 by Type & Authorship, a multidisciplinary course at ArtCenter College of Design. It is a collection of long-form stories and hand-drawn illustrations by 10 artists and designers which focus on the concept of water. The publication is sold at select bookstores in Los Angeles and at Motto Books in Berlin, Germany.

Early illustrations that were later turned into elaborate collages

There were many trials and tribulations with the cover, but we were determined to make the transparent concept work! These photos depict our process with various types of paper and how we would ultimately utilize the transparency effect

The cover and body of Drown Good Drown were printed in separate facilities. Here we are hand-folding the cover before dropping it off at the printer to be bound with the rest of the publication
